Tata Chemicals awarded “Sustainable Plus”, the world's first Corporate Sustainability Label by CII

Tata Chemicals (TCL), India’s leading manufacturer of chemicals, fertiliser and food additives, as well as the second largest soda ash player in the world has been awarded the highly prestigious “Sustainable Plus',
world's first Corporate Sustainability Label by CII. Based on a methodology that is globally recognized and suited to Indian markets, the company has been recognized as ‘Sustainable Plus’ in the Platinum categoryby CII.


On receiving the certification, R. Mukundan, Managing Director, Tata Chemicals commented, “Tata Chemicals is committed to achieve the highest performance standards in the areas of sustainability, safety, service and quality. The roots of being sustainable and contributing to social needs are embedded in our value system, which is also validated by our mission ‘Serving Society through Science. The Sustainable Plus is a brand identity created by CII-ITC centre of excellence for sustainable development. The label aims at communicating to consumers, investors and business partners that the company is sustainable, well-governed, and responsible company. 

For this recognition, information was gathered from public sources on more than 100 indicators spread across environment, social and governance parameters. The analysis of the recognition received enables companies to improve all aspects of performance such as reduce risks and costs, identify market opportunities and improve competitive advantage
