TN to get Rs 47.50 cr aid for water conservation project


Chennai:
Tamil Nadu will be getting Rs 47.50 crore aid from National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for executing water conservation and canopy improvement project in degraded forest lands.

Chief General Manager of NABARD said that the loan will be given to state under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund.

With this, the cumulative sanction by NABARD under RIDF-XVIII for 2012-13 is Rs 1,337.535 crore of which Rs 152.70 crore is specifically for development of storage and warehousing facility in the state.
