India’s sovereign cloud push draws in Zoho unit as TCS builds domestic platform

CHENNAI:
Tata Consultancy Services will deploy ManageEngine’s IT management software on its SovereignSecure Cloud, as India’s largest IT services group seeks to meet growing demand from governments and companies for infrastructure that keeps data within local jurisdiction.

ManageEngine, a division of Zoho Corporation, announced the partnership on Tuesday. Its enterprise tools will run inside TCS’s AI-enabled cloud, which the Mumbai-headquartered group markets as indigenous. The companies said the aim is to accelerate sovereign cloud adoption across government, public sector and private enterprise customers.

The tie-up reflects a broader shift in how Indian institutions buy cloud capacity. The companies said rapid cloud adoption and a growing digital economy are raising demand for resilient infrastructure that supports operational continuity as well as data residency. TCS will supply the sovereign cloud architecture, deployment frameworks and security expertise. ManageEngine will provide tools to manage IT infrastructure end to end, a release stated.

“Sovereign cloud technology will play an important role in India’s AI-led transformation,” said Satishchandra Doreswamy, TCS’s global head of SovereignSecure Cloud. He said the addition of ManageEngine would help public sector and enterprise customers run cloud and AI workloads “securely, reliably and at scale”.
