Chennai:

The work on the double-decker flyover project from Chennai Port to Maduravoyal on Poonamallee High road will start soon and the construction work will be completed within two and a half years, according to Chennai Port Chairman Sunil Paliwal. The tenders for the 20.6km double decker elevated highway between Chennai Port and Maduravoyal, which is being built at a cost of Rs 5,855 crore,  has been awarded.

The ship, which has been in operation for four consecutive months, has received a great response from the public. Following this, international cruise ships have been launched earlier this year as well.

He also said 12,000 saplings have been planted at the Chennai Port. Through this initiative, the port will be transformed into a green port, he said.
