Eight new money changing counters at Chennai airport

Eight new money-changing counters will now be available for passengers at the Chennai airport, the third largest in terms of traffic after Delhi and Mumbai.

Speaking   about  the launch  of  Forex  services at Chennai Airport,   T C Guru Prasad , executive director and business head Centrum Direct, said that the company has been awarded the exclusive rights  to set up six new money changing counters in the international terminal and two in the domestic terminal.

Centrum will provide foreign exchange at the counters 24x7 all 365 days of the year, at the most competitive rates. The counters will initially carry a range of products including currency notes, traveller’s cheques and multi- currency forex prepaid cards.  

“Our city side counters will offer options for free door to door delivery as a value added service from Centrum. We are confident that the discerning travellers of South India will appreciate the Company’s efforts to service their Forex requirements  most efficiently,” he said.

Chennai airport handled  12.92 million passengers in 2011-12 and acts as the hub for passengers in South India, due to efficient  connectivity options to major Indian and International airports. Twenty seven major airlines, including Air India, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Singapore, Lufthansa and several others operate 325 flights per day out of Chennai  airport.
