Bonfiglioli
India (BTPL) a 100 per cent subsidiary of Italian company Bonfiglioli plans to
invest Rs 40 crore this financial year in expansion of its second plant
in Manur near Sriperumbudur.
Addressing
a press conference here on Wednesday night, Bonfiglioli chief executive
officer and president Sonia Bonfiglioli and the company’s director M
Ganesh said that the focus will be on heavy duty products besides new
generation of machinery.
The company already has its plant in Thirumudivakkam near Thiruneermalai in Chennai.
The
company, which started its Indian operations had a turnover of Rs 530
crore last year and this year the company expects to grow by 15 per
cent.
Speaking
about company’s expansion programmes, Sonia said the focus will be on
Industrial applications, windmills, cranes and renewable energy.
The
company is also planning to target Indian market by catering to
products in water treatment, mining, biomass and photo-voltiac cells.
The
company already has expertise in making electric vehicles and a car for
a European company is being manufactured here, Sonia said, adding they
are also looking for Indian partners.
The
company has also built a massive 70 MW solar park in Bulgaria and may
plan similar parks in India with the help of partners from Germany
likely. The company is specialized in making gear boxes and 16 offices
across India with 25 distributors, said Ganesh.
