Chennai:
After Prime Minister disclosed Centre’s intent to restart Nokia
Sriperumbudur plant, top government officials said that the state
government was always hopeful that it would be revived and not given
up.

Tamil nadu Industrial Guidance and Export Promotion Bureau M
Velumurugan said that the state government has been putting its weight
behind re-opening Nokia’s Chennai plant.
Velumurugan said that the plant, which engineered the electronics
revolution in the city, will be revived and not given up.
Shankar said the first step would be to defreeze the assets of Nokia
and this could be done only by the revenue department in New Delhi
