Chennai Metro Water to issue new consumer cards from Monday

Chennai:

Chennai Metro Water would be issuing new consumer cards, which will be
valid for five years, from Monday.

The cards which which will be valid from 2015-2020 will be issued in
depot offices between 8.30am to 11.30 AM on all working days including
Saturdays free of cost.

Consumers are requested to bring old consumer card or copy of tax paid
receipt for verification.      The new consumer cards will be issued
for all consumers who paid their charges and taxes till March 31.

Other consumers are requested to pay the arrears and collect the new
card. If the properties are newly assessed by Chennai Corporation, the
owners are requested to approach concerned Area Senior Accounts
Officer with copy of assessment orders issued by Chennai Corpration
for levying water or sewerage tax and to get new consumer cards.

In respect of new water or sewer connections availed, consumers are
requested to contact concerned Area Senior Accounts Officer with
relevant documents for levying water/sewer charges to avoid surcharge,
a Chennai Metro Water release stated.
