New electric buses on three routes from Chennai

Now Chennaites could relish travelling for the first time in electric buses from Chennai to Puducherry, Bengaluru and Tirupati routes. NueGo, a premium electric bus brand from GreenCell Mobility, commenced its first-ever electric bus services from Chennai to Tirupati on Friday while services to Pondicherry and Bengaluru will start in the next couple of days.

The new routes are added after successful operations in Hyderabad-Vijayawada and Bengaluru-Tirupati routes.  The buses are fitted with innovative technology and offer end to end convenience for travelers with buses being run on a daily basis.

With 12 schedules between Chennai-Tirupati route to begin with, followed by 12 schedules on Chennai-Pondicherry, and over 30 schedules on Chennai-Bengaluru route. In Chennai, the buses will start from Koyambedu, from PRTC Bus Stand in Pondicherry, from RTC  Bus Stand in Tirupati, and from Majestic in Bangalore. The services will be available at a special introductory price in Chennai-Tirupati and Chennai-Pondicherry, starting from Rs 319 per seat. These electric coaches can run 250 kilometres in a single charge, with the air conditioners on, in traffic conditions. The coaches are fitted with innovative technology and offer end to end convenience for inter-city travellers, a release said.
