CHENNAI:
Tamil Nadu government may go in for an ordinance next month to implement the Tamil Nadu Business Facilitation Bill to ensure ease of doing business in the state, according to executive vice-chairperson of Tamilnadu Industrial Guidance and export Promotion Bureau Shilpa Prabhakar Satish.

The Bill has been drafted by the Industrial Guidance and Export Promotion Bureau with the help of global consulting agency Deolitte and remarks have been sought from the industry, said Shilpa.

Initially, the plan was to introduce the Bill in the assembly but with the current political situation, the government is planning to pass an ordinance, sources said.

She said the bill has been uploaded on the website and invited the industry to give its remarks

She also said the single window portal, which will be integrated with 32 services of seven to eight departments, is ready and will undergo a soft launch in next two to three days.

“We will be launching it in October once it undergoes the security audit,” said Shilpa.

She also said that Sipcot has a land bank of 53,000 hectares of land of which 40,000 hectares have been identified for development and administrative sanction has been given to 30,000 hectares. She said that the focus of the state government is to spread out industries away from the cities so that development is evenly spread.

She also said that plans are there to set up Tertiary Treatment and Reverse Osmosis (TTRO) plants to supply water to SIPCOT industries
