CHENNAI:
Tamil Nadu government may go in for an ordinance next
month to implement the Tamil Nadu Business Facilitation Bill to ensure ease of
doing business in the state, according to executive vice-chairperson of
Tamilnadu Industrial Guidance and export Promotion Bureau Shilpa Prabhakar
Satish.
The Bill has been drafted by the Industrial Guidance and
Export Promotion Bureau with the help of global consulting agency Deolitte and remarks
have been sought from the industry, said Shilpa.
Initially, the plan was to introduce the Bill in the assembly but with the current political situation, the government is planning to pass an ordinance, sources said.
She said the bill has been uploaded on the website and
invited the industry to give its remarks
She also said the single window portal, which will be integrated
with 32 services of seven to eight departments, is ready and will undergo a
soft launch in next two to three days.
“We will be launching it in October once it undergoes the
security audit,” said Shilpa.
She also said that Sipcot has a land bank of 53,000
hectares of land of which 40,000 hectares have been identified for development
and administrative sanction has been given to 30,000 hectares. She said that
the focus of the state government is to spread out industries away from the cities
so that development is evenly spread.
She also said that plans are there to set up Tertiary
Treatment and Reverse Osmosis (TTRO) plants to supply water to SIPCOT
industries
