Apollo Hospital Group under I-T scanner

Income Tax officials on Tuesday carried out searches on properties belonging to Apollo Hospitals across the country.

An Income Tax official said that searches have been carried out in 50 places in Chennai, Hyderabad and Delhi.

A total of 50 teams were involved in the search operations, which was carried out in corporate offices and other premises, after officials got information alleging tax evasion by the Apollo Group.

The searches were carried out at round 8am and it is still undergoing. The officials refused to divulge any further information. It is learnt that in Chennai alone 20 places were searched.
