Metro Rail stretch between Little Mount to Airport is likely to be opened next month

Chennai Metro Rail is likely to start its commercial operations in the 8.33km Chennai Airport-Little Mount stretch next month only after completing the few corrections suggested by Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).

It is learnt that Chennai Metro Rail will comply with the recommendations put forth by CMRS in the next few weeks. The CMRS inspected the stretch and stations in the last week of July and gave his approval but stressed on few corrections like electrification of the stretch, additional signages, reduction in speed limit as well as adjusting the dimensions of the platform.

“The work is going on. It will take further two weeks to comply with it, sources added.
