Change of Guard in Coast guard


CHENNAI:
Inspector General Paramesh Sivamani, took over the helm of Indian Coast Guard Region(East) from Inspector General Rajan Bargotra in a ceremonial parade held at Coast Guard Air Station Chennai on Monday. On relinquishing command, Inspector General Rajan Bargotra is proceeding on permanent transfer to Kolkata as The Commander Coast Guard Region (North East) after a successful and eventful two years stint at Chennai. The new Regional Commander, Inspector General Sivamani, has served in various sea and shore appointments during the career-span of            29 years.  
The Flag Officer has served in various capacities at sea, the prominent amongst them being Command of Indian Coast Guard Ships Avvaiyar, Vishwast and Samar. The Flag Officer is a specialist in Navigation and Direction and holds a Master Degree in Defence Studies from Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. Inspector General Paramesh Sivamani is also an alumni of the prestigious National Defence College, Delhi and holds a M.Phil. from the Madras University in Defence and Strategic Studies. IG Paramesh Sivamani also served as Deputy Director General (Operations) at Coast Guard Headquarters, New Delhi.
