State refuses planning permission to five building proposals

Fate of bureaucrats housing scheme hangs in balance

The state government has refused planning permission to five of the 31 proposals that were reviewed after being cleared by the DMK regime hurriedly during poll code of conduct.

Sources said planning permission were denied to Hotel Leela Venture in R A Puram, Vicoans Infra Environment and Engineer Private Limited in Adyar, Viceroy Hotels in MRC Nagar, The Institute of Chartered Accountant’s of India in Nungambakkam and Ramani Realtors in Nerkundram. Sources said till now no enforcement action has been taken against the violators.

The proposal for multi-storied buildings were re-examined by the government after  CMDA area development unit cleared 31 files hurriedly during two meetings when the election code of conduct was in place.

However, the government gave green signal to five projects after re-examination. These include Anand Citi Centre in Anna Salai, Arihant Hospitality Private Ltd in Arumbakkam, Lakshmi Narayanan in Nungambakkam, Tulive Properties in Saligramam and Hitesh Kawad SPR and RG Constructions in Karambakkam.

Meanwhile, 21 proposals including that of Nerkundram housing scheme for bureaucrats is still pending with the government. The three proposals from TNHB proposal were forwarded to the government on September 8, 2011 and orders are awaited.

Interestingly, the proposal from Brigade Enterprises, which has sought planning permission for construction of double basement plus ground and three floors commercial building with 16.9 metres height at Kottivakkam village in Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai is pending.

The others in the pending list include multi-storied building proposals from K S Gokuldoss in Arumbakkam, Munira B Begum. B and others in Egmore, Alliance projects in Korattur, S Sathya Narayanan in Mylapore, Sabari Foundation in Kuttambakkam, Shankar C in Zamin Pallavaram, GMR Estate in Palavakkam, Mfar Hotels in Velachery, Fairmont Hotels in Manapakkam, Jeyakumar K and others in Kodambakkam, Jones Foundation in Pallikaranai, Vijaya Productions in Vadapalani, Om Sakthi Agencies in Paruthipattu, Selene Estate in Jalladampet, Ravi M in Rajakalipakkam, Bharath Kumar K Kamdar in Shollinganallur and A Narayanan from Karambakkam.
