Chennai:
Union Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vyalar Ravi on Wednesday said the Mullaiperiyar issue could be sorted out with a dialogue between the chief ministers of both the states and the prime minister.Speaking after inaugurating the International Seminar on Young People and Migration, the minister said that he felt the dialogue between Kerala Chief Minister Oomen Chandy and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will help resolve the Mullaiperiyar issue.
Interestingly, Ravi’s statement comes in the wake of his criticism of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram who had stated Kerala’s apprehension over safety of Mullaperiyar dam was “unnecessary” and was liked to the by-elections.
