Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has urged the Puducherry government to constitute a high level committee to enquire into the recent Yanam labour unrest and has expressed “deep shock and concern” over the incident.
T T Ashok, chairman, CII – Southern Region expressed his condolences for the deaths of K C Chandrasekhar, President (Operations & Maintenance), Regency Ceramics and M S Murali Mohan, Trade Union Leader.
Urging Puducherry government to provide security and protection to all public and private properties, industrial establishments and to remove the fear from the employees and management of various organizations, Ashok said such incidents will have a negative impact not only in Puducherry, but also across the country
“Incidents like this will certainly send wrong signal to investors across the globe, at a time, when the country is facing several challenges in sustaining the growth momentum,” he said.
