CREDAI offers Rs 2.5 cr to CM relief fund
Chennai:
Sixty-five eminent developers from the property space will showcase 250 completed projects ranging from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 10 crore during the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India’s (CREDAI) three-day property show in Chennai from February 17.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, T Chitty Babu, president of CREDAI Chennai, said the fifth edition of FAIRPRO 2012 will underscore the vision of CREDAI’s new ‘Mission Transparency’ initiative and offer a platform for home-seekers to own a property that is based on strong values of trust and integrity.

Interestingly, this time the expo will bring in Chennai’s most legendary builders and bankers together to offer prospective home-seekers best value proposition on hot properties with home loans at lower interests.

Chitty Babu also said CREDAI will be donating Rs 2.5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund by the end of this month as part of the corporate Social responsibility to help Cyclone Thane affected. This is apart from the initiative where CREDAI is planting saplings in the 67 km stretch of national highway in Cuddalore.

He also said the approval of plans by Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority should be faster and e-governance is the need of the hour to usher in transparency, He said FAIRPRO even before being inaugurated already has 20,000 hits besides 6,000 people have registered for the tickets.

He also stressed the need for government to offer sops to real estate sector as there have been no major announcements for the last four years. The government shoulkd understand the importance of real estate with the growth of infrastructure. He also stressed the need for government to bring in a policy change to promote affordable housing.
