Paswan says bureaucracy is heartless

Chennai: Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Thursday highlighted the tussle between bureaucracy and politicians and said while the politicians go by heart the bureaucracy goes by mind. Speaking during a function to mark the 60th birth anniversary of DMK MP K P Ramalingam here, the minister said that most of the politicians have heart but they lack brain. “Similarly, the bureaucrats have brain but are heartless and worry about the circumstances always,” the minister said. Paswan said that if the politician has both heart and brain then he could bring in a revolution and said the country has few such politicians. He said the politican should first put forth the interest of nation, then party’s interest and last his personal interest. “If he goes against party and national interest then it would be a disaster,” he said. He also stressed the need to change the mindset and give dignity to labour. He said that his goal is to give power to the poor. The minister also said that Indian Muslims are not the sons of Mughal King Babur. There are 50 crore Muslims and they have converted from here,” he said. The minister also hailed the Dravidian culture and termed it as the oldest culture of the world.”I love Tamil Nadu than any other state. We all are member of same family,” said Paswan while hailing former Tamil Nadu chief Minister C N Annadurai. Speaking on the occasion, DMK’s Rajya Sabha MP K P Ramalingam paid tributes to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M G Ramachandran and said that he was initiated into politics by him. He also hailed the role of role of DMK chief M Karunanidhi who has been his mentor in politics.
