Budget-sector

IT:
FDI norms should be eased to support entreprenuership. There is a gold rush to be tapped in aerospace, defence and new trends in information technology services and e-commerce. Enhance broadband connectivity in rural areas besides promoting e-governance and mobile governance to bring in inclusive growth. There should also be incentives on research and development expenses. Some mechanism to provide support to software technology parks and special economic zones through land bank.
Asit K Barma, convenor FICCI manufacturing panel and head marketing of Defiance Technologies, Hinduja Group

Textiles:
Excise duty on branded apparels should be waived. The domestic branded apparel industry has suffered badly due to 10 per cent excise duty. Reducing the duty to one per cent will provide relief to the industry.
FICCI Textile committee member K G Balakrishnan

Power:
Power costs should be passed on to the consumers instead of utilities supplying it at a fixed rate.

CII member Souther Regional Council and CFO of Tafe LTD S Chandramohan
