Business will not be normal
in malls as the rise in service tax and excise tax will spur up prices of
retail products thus pinching the pockets of consumers.
R R Aroon Kumar, chief financial officer of Express Avenue and Express Infrastructure Private Ltd, said the budget is more inflationary in nature and will have negative impact on malls which relies on the footfalls of consumers. The rise will have a service and excise tax will have a 20 per cent rise in input cost which will result in inflation, Kumar said.
