Lion Dates premises searched by Income Tax officials

Income Tax officials on Wednesday conducted searches on the offices of Lion Dates in Trichy and Chennai for tax evasion, according to Income Tax sources.

The search, which was confirmed to Express, was conducted in six to seven places in Trichy besides the corporate office in Nungambakkam in Chennai.

An Income Tax official said that the search, which was conducted by 10 teams, is being carried out under the directions of the Coimbatore office.

Officials refused to give any further details.
