Naturals sets Rs 2,000 crore turnover target by 2020

Chennai:
Naturals Beauty Salon, the beauty care brand of Groom India Salon and Spa, has set up an ambitious target to have 3,000 franchises by 2020 and achieve a turnover of over Rs 2,000 crore.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, K Veena, founder and chairman of Naturals along with her husband C K Kumaravel, who is co-founder and chief executive officer of the brand said that the company’s turnover last financial year was Rs 180 crore and it is expected to touch Rs 350 crore by the end of this financial year.

Kumaravel said that Naturals is adding 15 new salons on its network every month and likes to step up to a count of 50 launches a month in achieving the target of 3000 by 2020.

He said that Naturals would continue to take the franchise route for expansion, requiring investments in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh for a franchise set up.

Interestingly, Naturals has partnered with Bharti Retail’s Easyday chain of retail stores to have a salon in all its stores. “We have been given a mandate to open 250 stores. We already have 10 salons with Bharti tie-up,” said Kumaravel.

He said that Naturals has also recently partnered with Indian Overseas bank to empower 100 women entrepreneurs before the end of March 2014. “Under the arrangement IOB will fund 100 individual franchisee salons through the loan facilitation scheme of SIDBI. The company is in talks with global beauty product companies to jointly open salons that use beauty products from exclusive brands,” added Kumaravel.

After focusing on south, Naturals is planning to target north India and particularly Tier II and Tier III cities that remain untapped, said Kumaravel.
