While there may be shift in the nature of taxation with the
introduction of Goods and Service Tax, is the Central Board of Excise
and Customs prepared administratively to handle the challenge, asked
an expert during the Central Excise Day Celebrations.
Speaking during a function to mark the day, Former chairman of the
Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC), V Sridhar said that once
the GST comes into being there will be administrative issues as
Central Goods and service tax and State Goods and Service Tax will be
working as a single unit.
