CMRL warns offenders against disfiguring metro rail structures


Chennai:
Chennai Metro Rail (CMRL) has warned offenders indulging in disfigurement of Chennai Metro Rail structures stating that those involved will be arrested or fined.
CMRL sources said that posters and bills pasted on the structures of Chennai Metro Rail structures such as piers, barricades and other structures. It is an illegal act.
“Such actions are offences under Section 3-A and 4-A of Tamil Nadu Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act 1959 and is punishable with imprisonment which may extend to five years or fine which may extend to Rs 5,000 or both.
