1,200 delegates likely to attend TiECON Chennai 2012


Chennai:
More than 1,200 are expected to attend the two-day TiECON Chennai 2012, the largest conclave for entrepreneurs in state starting from December 3.

Addressing a press conference, president of TiE Chennai Lakshmi Narayanan and chairman TiEcon Chennai 2012 R Ramraj said that the event would be attended by business leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, regulators, bankers, academia and students.

The event revolves around the theme ‘Powering the Next Step’ focusing on the continous next steps that entrepreneurs take in their journey and how these get powered as they grow from being start-ups to become mature enterprises, said Narayanan.

Leading entrepreneurs and thought leaders like G M Rao, chairman and managing director of GMR Group, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder Isha Foundation, Subroto Bagchi, chairman MindTree, Raghavendra Rao, chairman and managing director Orchid Pharma, Geet Sethi, co-founder Olympic gold Quest, Gopal Srinivasan, chairman and managing director, TVS Capital, S Ve Shekher, ex-MLA and dramatist, K Ganesh, founder, TutorVista, Ashwin Damera, founder, TraveGuru and leading venture capitalists and angel investors will address the budding entrepreneurs, said Ramraj.

He said the flagship event of TiE Chennai gives entrepreneurs the best platform to get inspired, make connections and pitch investors to make their business dreams come true.

He said the winners of TiE will be announced during the PowerPitch Fest session to be held on December 3 and it will provide an opportunity for budding as well as established entrepreneurs to present their business plans to multiple venture capitalists and angel investors in one-on-one settings and pitch for funding. He said this is not just for start-ups but even for companies that want to scale-up.
