Pratibha Cauvery enters Chennai Port

Chennai:
The salvaged oil tanker Pratibha Cauvery on Wednesday docked in Chennai Port for inspection by Indian Register of Shipping.

Port officials told Express that the ship, which was salvaged from Pattinapakkam near Marina beach on November 11, entered Chennai Port from the outer anchorage on Wednesday morning.

The ship is likely to stay in port till this week and will be carrying out repair works to restore its anchor damaged during Cyclone Nilam that hit Chennai coast recently.

Port officials said after the inspection it will be left to the owner to decide the fate of 31-year-old tanker on whether it will go to dry dock or the yard.
