CMDA seals two buildings


Chennai:
In a bid to check unauthorized construction in Chennai Metropolitan Area, Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority’s (CMDA) on Thursday locked and sealed two buildings in Purusaiwalkam and Perumbakam respectively for violating Town and Country Planning Act, 1971.
A CMDA spokesman told Express that CMDA officials have sealed a ground plus five-floor residential building in Purusaiwalkam as the owner has deviated from the original plan. The lock and seal notice to the building was issued on February 8.
Similarly, a commercial building in Perumbakkam village was sealed after a notice of lock and seal and demolition notice was issued on February 6, 2013. CMDA spokesman said the ground floor plus two floor unauthorized building was sealed on Thursday.
