B Santhanam, managing director of Saint-Gobain Glass
India Ltd, Chennai has been elected as the chairman of
CII – Southern Region for the year 2013 -14.
CII – Southern Region for the year 2013 -14.
His name was announced at the first meeting of the
reconstituted Southern Regional Council held in Hyderabad on Saturday.
B Santhanam has been closely associated with the CII and was the deputy chairman of CII – southern region for the year 2012 -13. He is a member of the CII National Council and was the chairman of CII National Committee on Skills and Human Resources during 2006-2010. He was the chairman of Skills and Employability Sub-Committee of CII Southern Region during 2011-12.
Santhanam has also been closely involved in CII initiatives in the areas of Human Resource Development, Skill Development and Manufacturing.
As the Founder Managing Director of Saint-Gobain Glass India, Santhanam enabled the company to achieve, in a short time, quality, technical and market leadership position.
In 2008, Santhanam was selected as “CEO of the Year”, a bi-annual award by National Human Resource Development Network (NHRDN). In 2005, he was
awarded “Les Arches de la Croissance” (Arches of Growth), a global recognition from Saint Gobain Group, for innovation and growth.
Santhanam obtained his B.Tech from IIT, Madras and MBA from IIM, Ahmedabad.
Navas Meeran, Chairman, Eastern Treads Ltd, Ernakulam has been elected as the Deputy Chairman of CII Southern Region. Navas Meeran is an active member of CII and was the Chairman of CII Kerala State Council during the year 2006-07. He is a member of CII Southern Region Council.
He is also a member
of the Regional Advisory Committee (SSI Sector) of the Collectorate of
Central Excise & Customs, Kerala and Member, Young Presidents’
