The newly constituted board of Port Trust will hold its
first meeting on Thursday after a delay of more than two months, according to
Port Trust sources.Sources told Express that the new board was delayed by two months by Shipping Ministry. The 23-member board is reconstituted every two years and the previous board’s tenure came to an end on March 31. However, the new board was constituted last week only.
The board has ex-officio members, which also includes two representatives from the labour unions, besides other interests in the elected category including ship owners, besides ex-officio members and political members.
