Academicians and technocrats from India and United States
stressed on the need for sustainable development as part of joint knowledge
initiatives between both countries.
Delivering
the inaugural address during the India-US Global Business Planning and Network
Strategy conference, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Gautam Dey stressed
the need to search for alternative development for sustainable development
besides and the need for innovation in quality cheaper medicines which could
benefit the poor.
The
conference also focused on Pulicat lake highlighting the port planning besides
how the fishing community was involved in opening the mouth of Pulicat lake so
that it can enter the sea.
Abdul
Razak Mohammed, the Indian chair said the conference is a meeting of academics,
technocrats, professionals, corporates and NGOs from the field of environment,
community and knowledge. The conference creates a platform for the
intellectuals, students and academics to meet and update the knowledge on innovation,
technology and development, he added.
