Chennai:
The
Indian Coast guard on Monday apprehended four Sri Lankan fishing boats
along 20 crew about 28 nautical miles south east off Nizampatnam in
Indian waters.
The four fishing boats
Ashen Putha (IMUL-A-1061 MTR), Sanath 5- Trincu (IMUL-A-0176 TCO),
Kanthi 10 (IMUL-A-1028 MTR) and Kanthi (IMUL-A-0928 MTR) were
apprehended by ICGS Rani Avantibai.
The four Sri Lankan fishing boats are being escorted to Kakinada to be handed over to local police.
This
also comes in the wake of apprehension of four Sri Lankan fishing boats
along with 22 crew that strayed off Krishnapatnam coast by Indian Coast
Guard ship Rajveer and Sarang on Saturday and Sunday.
