Six fishermen rescued by Coastguard

Chennai:
A fishing boat in distress with six crew onboard was rescued about 33 nautical miles north of Krishnapatnam by Indian Coastguard ship Sarang.

A Coastguard spokesman told Express that the mechanized boat ventured out to sea from Chennai on November 10. It went adrift since November 16 due to engine failure.

It was located at 6.45 am on Monday by ICGS Sarang and towed to Krishnapatnam. After providing logistics and first aid, the boat was  handed over to the owner and fisheries authorities.
