Seven Indian warships of Eastern fleet in Chennai

Students and NCC cadets from various schools and colleges in and around Chennai on board Eastern Fleet Naval warships which are at Chennai as part of Navy Week celebrations to promote greater understanding about the role of the Indian Navy in safeguarding the coastline of our country


Chennai:
Seven major warships of the Eastern Fleet of the Indian Navy under the Command of the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet Rear Admiral Atul Kumar Jain are in Chennai from November 12 to 13 as part of Navy Week celebrations.

To promote greater understanding about the role of the Indian Navy in safeguarding the coastline of our country, the visiting warships were open to the students and NCC cadets of the schools and colleges in and around Chennai from 10am to 4pm on Tuesday.

Approximately 4700 students including NCC cadets and special children visited the Naval warships and interacted with the personnel onboard.

The ships will sail off Chennai on Wednesday for ‘Families day At Sea’ to showcase the Naval activities to the families of the naval personnel as well as to the other invitees. Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry  Virendra Kataria will be the chief guest for the event.
