Coastguard enhances vigil along Puducherry, South TN coast

Coast Guard Ships C-415 and C-416 were commissioned at Karaikal Port (Puducherry) by Inspector General SP Sharma, Commander, Coast Guard Region (East)on Friday. 

Local Civil Dignitaries and Senior Officials of the Central and State Govt were also present. With the induction of these two Interceptor Boats the Coast Guard has increased close to coast surveillance along the south Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Coast.

ICGS C-415 and C-416 are among the 36 interceptor boats being built and inducted into the Coast Guard service.  The ships have been designed and built indigenously by Larsen and Toubro. The Boats have an overall length of 27.80 mtrs, displacement of 101 Tons and maximum speed of 45 knots.
