17 Indian fishermen freed



Chennai:
Eight Indian fishing boats along with 17 fishermen, who were held captive in Sri Lanka were handed over to Indian Coast Guard on Friday at Indo-Sri Lanka International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL).
Indian Coastguard Ship Rajshree would hand over the fishermen to local fisheries authorities in Karaikal on Saturday morning, a Coastguard release stated.
The Coastguard in the eastern region has so far repatriated 53 Indian fishing boats and 334 crew in the first three months of the year.
