Chennai:
A public interest litigation challenging Tamil Nadu Legislative Council Abolition Act 1986 and its process as illegal and unconstitutional was dismissed as withdrawn by Madras High court.
The first bench comprising of acting chief justice Satish K Agnihotri and Justice M M Sundaresh passed the order stating that the petition filed by K Angamuthu, practicing lawyer at Madras High court Advocate Association, High Court Buildings, is ‘dismissed as withdrawn’.
The judges gave the liberty to petitioner to approach the appropriate authority.
