Family Courts to be closed on Sundays

Chennai:

Family courts will not be open on Sundays following a official memorandum issued by the registrar general of Madras High court.

The registrar general has said that all the four family courts – Principal Family Court, I additional Principal Family Court, II Additional Principal Family Court and III additional Principal Family Court, which are functioning on Saturdays and Sundays will henceforth function only on Saturdays.

The courts were functioning on weekends including Saturdays and Sundays from July 10, 2010.
