Review petition challenging HC order on validating GO on nurses selection dismissed

Chennai:
Madras High Court on Wednesday has dismissed a review petition challenging the order of the first bench which upheld a Government Order, stating that students who have nursing course in private nursing colleges are also eligible for appointment in government hospitals as nurses.
Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice M Sathyanarayanan while dismissing the review petition at the admission stage itself observed that the government has decided that in future all vacant posts of nurses in government medical institutions shall be filled from the trained nurses both in government institutions and government approved private nursing institutions. This would be done by conducting an examination by Medical Services Recruitment Board constituted vide Government Order dated January 2, 2012 duly following the rule of reservation and is also subject to the outcome of the Special Leave Petitions pending before Supreme Court and the validity of the GO has been upheld by the court in its impugned judgement  of 2013, they observed.
“The court finds no merit in these review applications and they are dismissed at the admission stage itself,” the judges ruled.
