Chennai:
Providing security would not be a women’s forte, but
Chennai’s Sree Vidhya proved it otherwise by nurturing the only full fledged
security services agency which is co-owned and run by a woman to become the
‘Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, 2012’.
Selected from among the one lakh achievers competing for the
seventh edition of the prestigious ICICI CNBC Emerging India Awards, Sree
Vidhya who runs the Ravindra Services Private LTD (RSPL) said the complexity of
today’s security needs and protective services helped her to grow her agency
into being the only full fledged security agency in the country to be co-owned
and run by a woman.
This award category was to recognize the tireless efforts
put in by women entrepreneurs to overcome the numerous challenges they face as
entrepreneurs. RSPL, which was started in early 80s provides security services
including armed guards, cash in transit vans, facility management and temporary
staffing.
