Kerala plans high-speed rail



Chennai:
Kerala government is planning a high-speed rail and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation is preparing a detailed project report in this regard, according to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation principal advisor E Sreedharan.
Speaking after being presented with Rotary’s highest award, he said Kerala has given its clearance and once the project report is ready it will be given to Union government for its assent.

The minister said the project will be a joint effort by the Union government and Kerala with the money expected to come from either Japan or somewhere. It is believed the rail tracks of the high speed trains will be on elevated stretch.
