No soft corner if allegations against Gadkari proved, says RSS

Chennai:
RSS on Friday said it does not support corrupt nor corruption and said law should take its own course over the allegations against BJP president Nitin Gadkari.

Speaking after the inauguration of RSS National Executive Council meet here on Friday, RSS Joint General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabele said that if there is allegation against anybody the due process of law should take place and those found guilty should be punished.

Hosabele also questioned why Gadkari is being singled out by the media on the issue of alleged land acquisition when there were others involved.

He said, “We are not going to discuss it case wise or person wise. We are going to discuss it as a policy of land acquisition,” before adding, “We are not giving any soft corner to anybody.”

On whether RSS is planning to initiate action against Gadkari over the allegations, Hosabele said that it is for the BJP to take a decision on Gadkari, based on the outcome of an inquiry.

The three-day meet, being attended by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and 400 delegates from the country, will deliberate on various issues like illegal immigration from Bangladesh and the proposed Land Acquisition Bill.
