All India Camel Colour Contest invites entries from schools



Chennai: Kokuyo Camlin Limited (earlier Camlin Limited), which is the pioneering and leading stationery and art material manufacturer of the country, will be inviting schools from across the country to participate in the All India Camel Colour Contest – the world’s largest art activity for school children.

Running successfully since the last four decades, this highly awaited annual painting contest for Indian school students is held to promote art and art awareness among students.

A Srikanth, CEO -- Kokuyo Camlin Limited, unveiled the brochure in an event announcing the contest open to schools across the country. The brochure would be presented to the school authorities inviting them for participation and also for conveying the rules and norms of the participation. 

This year the company has planned to cover minimum 5000 schools with this unique activity including schools with under-privileged children. During this event he said as to how the All India Camel Color contest although close to four decades old is as much relevant today if not more than it was before.

As a matter of fact research has shown that when a child develops his/her art skills other learning faculties also get developed.

Speaking on the occasion, Saumitra Prasad, Chief Marketing Officer, Kokuyo Camlin Limited, said, “The All India Camel Colour Contest been touching the lives of millions of school children in India for last many years. Schools will be participating in the ‘All India Camel Colour Contest’ from October’15 as the registrations are on till the end of October. 

They would conduct their internal judging to select the best entries from the school to represent the school at the regional level.  The regional level judging would take place during November’13 and will select contestants for the National tie to be held in Mumbai in mid December’13. The names of all the National Award winning entries would be put on the company website.

This contest has become a household name due to its innovative design and passionate execution.  It has created a history by establishing the Guinness World Records for the largest activity in 2011 with a participation of 4.85 million participants from 6600+ schools. The participation in the All India Camel Colour Contest has touched the magical figure of 5 million in 2012.
