Chennai:
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), the country’s largest exporter and
the second-largest car manufacturer today marked the production of the 5
Millionth car at its manufacturing unit in Irungattukottai, near
Chennai since it started production in the India in 1998.
Speaking during an event to mark the production of the 5 Millionth car at its manufacturing unit in Irungattukottai, near Chennai since it started production in the India in 1998, B S Seo, managing director and chief executive officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited said that Hyundai has significantly contributed to the state as well as national economy.

Speaking during an event to mark the production of the 5 Millionth car at its manufacturing unit in Irungattukottai, near Chennai since it started production in the India in 1998, B S Seo, managing director and chief executive officer of Hyundai Motor India Limited said that Hyundai has significantly contributed to the state as well as national economy.
"With
a GDP contribution of 4% to Tamil Nadu State government HMIL has
significantly contributed to the Indian economy since 1996. Leading with
46% export market share and 20.3% in the passenger car segment, Hyundai
has become the most loved and trusted car manufacturer in India," he said.
He
said that Hyundai has invested $2.7
billion in its manufacturing plant in Irungattukottai which has a production
capacity of 6.8 lakh cars.

Sethuraman, directorate of corporate affairs said that Hyundai will be planting
one million saplings to mark the occasion. He said already Hyundai Motors have
planted two lakh trees under this novel initiative.
