Jaya directed to appear before court on June 9

Chennai:

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and her close aide Sasikala has been
directed by the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Economic
Offences), Egmore to appear before the court on June 9.

The direction was given after special public prosecutor requested the
court to fix a date within a week for framing of charges in connection
with a case filed by Income Tax Department. The income tax department
had filed the case in 1991-92 and 1992-93.

“The petition filed by the special public prosecutor is allowed in
view of the orders passed by Supreme Court,” said R Dakshinamurthy,
the additional chief metropolitan magistrate
