Rear Admiral Bhatnagar is Indian Navy’s first Flag Officer for TN

Chennai:

Commodore Alok Bhatnagar, Naval Officer-in-Charge (Tamil Nadu & Puducherry) is the Flag Officer Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval area on promotion to rank of Rear Admiral.  

Till now, an officer in the rank of Commodore was the senior most Naval Officer in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. 

This post has been elevated to Flag Officer and Rear Admiral Alok Bhatnagar will be the first Naval Officer to occupy the newly created billet.

Major shore appointments of the flag officer include Director Naval Plans at Integrated Headquarters Ministry of Defence (Navy), Naval Attache in Washington DC and Principal Director International Fleet Review at Indian Headquarters Ministry of Defence (Navy), New Delhi. 

Rear Admiral Alok Bhatnagar is an alumnus of the 66th Course of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, having graduated in May 1984.
