Chennai:
In a bid to increase the efficiency of Indian ports and
provide port promoters with efficient and economical services and port
management, terminal design and port terminal development, Portman India has
entered into a joint venture with UK-based Nectar group.
Speaking after signing the agreement, Portman India
managing director Capt Suresh N Amirapu said that the agreement is for
operations and management of ports and terminals.
He said that Nectar’s track record and long experience
provide the much needed expertise in operating, maintaining and managing
terminals synergised with Portman’s intimate knowledge of Indian conditions
provide a comprehensive package to port promoters.
Han Ozturk, director of Nectar Group, said that the joint
venture is poised to usher in wide range of services in design, development and
operations of ports and terminals.
