Chennai:
India needs more entrepreneurs and the youth should aspire
more to become employer than employee, according to Governor K Rosaiah.
Speaking after honouring the three entrepreneurs with Second
ChinniKrishna Innovation Awards here on Wednesday night, the governor said many
youth with high knowledge and potential are in search of a path towards
starting new ventures which blooms out of innovation and creativity and there
is a need to guide and motivate the youngsters.
The governor earlier honoured three entrepreneurs from
different fields. The y include A Mohammed Ibrahim of Brainz Infotech, R K
Saran Raja of Japeva Engineering and Rangarajan Nadhamuni of Sriram Agro
Processing Unit.
Ibrahim, a native of villupuram, was selected for the award
for his innovation in manufacturing coin operated vending machines while Chennai-based
Raj was honoured for manufacturing 100 per cent eco-friendly mineral roofing with
enhanced weather insulation and water proofing properties. Rangarajan Nadhamuni
of Vellore got the award for converting mango waste into mango butter.
With its successful initiation last year, the awards
committee this time received 118 applications from across Tamil Nadu. The
ChinniKrishnan Innovation Award team then shortlisted 10 best applications
based on innovativeness, uniqueness and scalability.
