ED quiz Shekar Reddy aide Srinivasulu at Puzhal prison

Enforcement Directorate on Friday quizzed K Srinivasulu, one of the aides of industrialist and sand mining baron Shekar Reddy over the seizure of newly-released currency worth Rs 34 crore by the Income Tax department.

Srinivasulu was quizzed after Principal Sessions Court, Chennai, granted permission to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to interrogate Reddy and four of his associates inside the Puzhal Central Prison for five days.

“Today we interrogated Srinivasulu. The investigation focussed on the seizure of demonetised currency as well as the properties procured by him. He is also very close to Reddy,” said ED sources.

Srivasulu along with Reddy, Dindigul Rathinam, Muthupettai Ramachandran and auditor Prem Kumar is also booked by enforcement directorate under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

It is learnt that Enforcement Directorate plans to quiz Shekar Reddy on either Monday or Tuesday.
