Chennai:
Nearly 350 delegates from 14 countries are taking part in
the International Conference on Structural Integrity at Indira Gandhi Center
for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam from February 4-7.
The conference is organized by Indira Gandhi Centre for
Atomic Research along with Society for Failure Analysis, The Indian Institute
of Metals and Indian Institute of Welding.
SS Bajaj, chairman, Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, Dr K
Tamilmani, director general, Aeronautical
Systems and Chief Executive, CEMILAC, DRDO will preside over the inaugural
function. The conference covers all major aspects of structural integrity from
materials selection to life extension, in addition to exposing the participants
to the recent advances in modeling,
structural health monitoring, design and stress analysis, damage mechanics and
other aspects that ensure safe and reliable operation of operating components
and large concrete structures in various industries
